GMC Installs High-Mast LED Lights Across Guwahati
The city of Guwahati is getting brighter!
The local government is putting up 60 tall, bright LED lights all over the city.
They're working with another company to do this.
The goal is to make it easier and safer for people to move around.
They will even put lights in places like where people are cremated.
The lights should help stop bad things like drinking and gambling in dark spots.
There are already many street lights up, and the new lights will add to that.
The government also installed over 20,000 LED street lights.
Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) is installing 60 high-mast LED lights across the city, with one in each ward.
The project is a collaboration with Guwahati Unnayan Company Ltd. (GUCL) as part of modernization efforts.
50 lights are operational currently, with the remaining 10 expected to be completed within four months.
The initiative aims to make Guwahati safer and more accessible, including lighting in cremation grounds.
The project builds upon the existing infrastructure of 53 operational high-mast LED street lights and 20,657 LED street lights.
