CWC Grants In-Principle Approval for Polavaram Dam Gap-II Works

Imagine building a big wall to hold back water, called the Polavaram project.

Engineers need to get permission from a main water group, the CWC, before they can build certain parts of the wall.

Recently, the CWC gave a conditional okay for one part, the gap-II works.

This means the builders can start working on that section, but they still need to finalize some smaller details about the design.

They are rushing to finish this part because the state leader wants the whole project done by the end of 2027.

They are also putting up cameras to watch how the work is going.

Officials from another state even visited to learn how they are building it.
