Mamata’s Lawyer Questions Disclosure of 2021 Medical Records
Mamata Banerjee’s lawyer has asked two hospitals to explain how her 2021 medical records became public.
The records were about an injury she had while campaigning in Nandigram.
Her lawyer wants to know how the papers reached Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
He also asks whether a court allowed the papers to be shared and whether the public documents were originals.
Adhikari says he did not get the papers from SSKM Hospital.
He says he can explain where they came from if needed.
He continues to say Banerjee’s injury was faked.
Banerjee’s injury became an issue during the election campaign, when she later campaigned from a wheelchair.
Mamata Banerjee’s lawyer Arka Nag sent legal notices to SSKM Hospital and Bangur Institute of Neurosciences over disclosure of her 2021 medical records.
The notice asks how the records reached Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and whether their public release was authorized by a court.
It also asks whether the documents made public were original records and what action was taken if they were unlawfully provided.
Adhikari denied receiving the papers from SSKM, but said he could explain their source if necessary and maintained his claim that Banerjee’s injury was faked.
The dispute concerns Banerjee’s leg injury during the 2021 Nandigram campaign; she later campaigned from a wheelchair.
