Howard Buffett to Succeed Warren as Berkshire Chairman

Howard Buffett is Warren Buffett’s son.

He is 71 years old and will become chairman of Berkshire Hathaway.

Warren Buffett is 96 and is leaving the chairman’s job after more than 50 years.

Warren will become chairman emeritus and stay on the company’s board.

Howard has been a Berkshire director since 1993.

His new job will mainly involve protecting the company’s culture, not running its daily business.

Howard has worked as a farmer, businessman, conservationist, author and philanthropist.

He also leads a foundation that supports food security, addresses human trafficking and helps with conflicts.

Greg Abel is already Berkshire Hathaway’s chief executive.
