US Releases 3.5M Epstein Files
The US Justice Department has released a huge amount of documents, videos, and images related to Jeffrey Epstein, a man who was convicted of bad things involving young girls.
These files include over 3.5 million pages and 2,000 videos.
The department had to review all these files to make sure they don't share information that could hurt the people who were hurt by Epstein.
Some of the files mention powerful people like Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Woody Allen, Steve Tisch, and Prince Andrew, but just because their names are in the files doesn't mean they did anything wrong.
Epstein died in jail in 2019, and his friend Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison for helping him.
Some people think the government should release even more files, but the government says they have done what the law requires.
One of Epstein's victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, said he made her meet powerful people, but they all said they didn't do anything wrong.
The files are being released to show what the government knew about Epstein and his actions.
The US Justice Department released over 3.5 million pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images related to Jeffrey Epstein.
The files include references to prominent figures like Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Woody Allen, Steve Tisch, and Prince Andrew, though mentions do not imply wrongdoing.
Some files were temporarily removed and later reposted due to concerns about depicting victims, causing controversy and speculation.
Critics argue that millions of pages remain unreleased or heavily redacted, while the DOJ claims to have met its legal obligations.
The release marks the end of a comprehensive review process to ensure transparency and protect victims, with Epstein having died in a New York jail cell in August 2019.
