Delhi FIRs for CJP Protest to be Withdrawn, Party Demands
The Delhi government said it will stop working on the police reports (FIRs) that were made after a student protest.
The student group, called the Cockroach Janta Party, wants those reports to be officially cancelled, not just left alone.
They say the government promised to do this in a deal made on July 25.
The group also says the Supreme Court’s order is being misused to keep the reports open.
Delhi Police will not punish people who joined the protest, but will act against those with past crimes.
They registered 13 reports for violence during a march.
A separate report was filed in Noida against a woman who allegedly used bad words about the Prime Minister.
The student group warns that if promises aren’t kept, students might protest again.
They want the government to keep its word and stop using police power for politics.
Delhi government issued a notification that FIRs linked to the CJP 36‑day agitation will not be pursued further and may be treated as closed.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das insists the correct term is “withdrawn” and urges the government to honor the July 25 Jantar Mantar agreement.
Das criticizes the use of the Supreme Court interim order to justify investigations and calls for full implementation of promises.
Delhi Police will not take adverse action against participants, but will act against those with criminal backgrounds; 13 FIRs were registered for violence during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march.
A Zero FIR was filed in Noida against a woman for alleged abusive language toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jantar Mantar.
