BMW X1 LWB India Launch Confirmed For August 21
BMW is going to sell a bigger version of its X1 car in India.
This car is called the X1 LWB.
LWB means long wheelbase, which is a fancy way of saying the car is longer.
Because it is longer, there is more room for people sitting in the back seat.
The car was first made for people in China.
It will be the cheapest BMW with a long body and a petrol engine in India.
There is already an electric version called the iX1 LWB that is on sale.
The bigger X1 also has more space for luggage, 540 litres in total.
People in India can buy the car starting August 21, 2026.
BMW will share the exact price and engine details when the car is launched.
BMW has confirmed the X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) will launch in India on August 21, 2026.
The X1 LWB is 116 mm longer overall and has a 110 mm longer wheelbase than the standard X1.
It will be BMW's most affordable long-wheelbase combustion-engined model in India, joining the electric iX1 LWB.
Boot space grows to 540 litres versus 476 litres in the standard X1, with rear seats positioned 27 mm higher.
India's powertrain is unconfirmed; the China-spec model uses a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 204hp and 300Nm.
