Delhi Opens EWS Admissions for Vacant Private-School Seats
Delhi has opened applications for some reserved school seats for the 2026–27 school year.
These seats are for children in Class 2 and higher classes.
The seats are in eligible private schools, but not minority schools.
Parents can apply online until September 20.
The Education Department plans to choose students using a computerised draw.
The draw may happen on September 24.
Families usually need to meet income and Delhi-residency rules.
Parents must provide correct information and only apply once for each child.
Schools are not allowed to ask for donations or extra admission fees.
Delhi’s Directorate of Education opened online admissions for vacant EWS and freeship seats for Classes 2 onward.
Applications for the 2026–27 academic session can be submitted until September 20.
A computerised draw of lots is expected on September 24, considering school choices and applicants’ residential addresses.
Applicants must be Delhi residents; EWS families need annual income below ₹5 lakh or qualifying ration or food-security cards.
Selected candidates will undergo document verification, while schools cannot charge capitation fees or demand donations.
