Death Certificate Issued After Delay for Former Police Officer's Family

Death Certificate Issued After Delay for Former Police Officer's Family

Ashwini Bidre-Gore was a former police officer who was murdered in 2016.

A court decided that her death was homicidal.

However, her family did not receive an official death certificate for many months.

Her husband, Raju Gore, repeatedly asked the Panvel civic body to issue it.

He said the missing document made it harder for their daughter to receive benefits and continue her education.

A Tehsildar later ordered officials to register the death and issue the certificate.

The family submitted many documents and followed up several times.

The certificate was finally given to the family, ending this immediate administrative problem.
