Coffee Futures Rise as Brazil Crop Concerns Increase
Coffee prices are going up because of worries about the coffee supply from Brazil.
The price of coffee futures, which is like a promise to buy coffee later, is almost as high as it has ever been.
This is because market speculators, who try to make money by buying and selling things, are worried that there won't be enough coffee from Brazil.
The price has gone up a lot since August.
Brazil's coffee exports to places like the US have dropped due to tariffs, and there's also concern about the weather.
Although rain is expected, it might not be enough to help the coffee crops.
The organization that runs the market also increased the amount of money traders need to have to buy coffee, because the prices have been moving around a lot lately.
Coffee futures are near an all-time high.
Prices are up around 50% since early August.
Market speculators are driving the price surge.
Brazilian export data shows dropping shipments.
