MCC Directs Institutes To Verify, Freeze Final Seat Matrix

A group called the Medical Counselling Committee helps students get into dental schools in India.

They told every dental college to check its list of seats very carefully.

Each college has to log in to a special website using its own user ID and password.

On the website, they can see how many seats they have and how the seats are divided for different groups of students.

If the college finds a mistake, it must fix it before the list is final.

After checking, the college must press the button to lock, or “freeze,” the final list of seats.

This frozen list will be used to decide which students get the seats.

If a college does not freeze its list on time, those seats might not be available for students at all.

So the committee told everyone not to wait until the very last day.
