Hyderabad's Bhuvenshwari Jadhav Wins Bronze at Asian Karate Championship
Imagine a karate competition like a big school sports day, and Bhuvenshwari is one of the students.
She's from India and is really good at karate.
She went to a big karate contest in another country and won a bronze medal!
This is like getting third place, and it's a big deal because she's the first Indian woman to win a medal in this competition.
She even hurt her knee badly last year but worked super hard to get back to fighting.
Now, she gets to go to another big contest in a few years.
She hopes to inspire other kids to try karate too, just like a famous athlete inspires kids to play a different sport.
Bhuvenshwari Jadhav won a bronze medal in the 68 kg category at the Asian Karate Championship in Tashkent.
This is Jadhav's first continental medal and secures her a spot at the 2026 Asian Games.
She is the first Indian woman to reach the semifinals and win a bronze in this championship.
Jadhav overcame a severe ACL injury in 2023 and made a remarkable comeback.
She trains at Kondru's My Dojo Karate Academy in Nizampet, Hyderabad.
