Flood-Injured Elephant Joymoti Airlifted to Vantara for Treatment
Joymoti is a 53-year-old elephant who was caught in floods in Assam.
Strong floodwater swept her away and badly hurt her.
Local people and government agencies helped rescue her.
Vantara’s team gave her first aid and basic medical care.
Because Joymoti is old and has trouble moving, she needs more specialised treatment.
The team is taking her by air instead of road to reduce stress on her body.
She will stay at Vantara for a while.
Veterinarians will watch her around the clock and try to help her recover.
