Mayawati Attacks SP Over PDA Claims and Rajya Sabha Nominations
Mayawati is the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, or BSP.
She criticized the Samajwadi Party, or SP, for its choice of Rajya Sabha candidates.
The SP says it represents backward, Dalit and minority communities through its PDA idea.
Mayawati said the party’s candidate choices do not match that message.
One nominee, Ram Gopal Yadav, is related to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
The other nominee, Dhanraj Nathwani, works for Reliance Industries.
Mayawati said the BSP instead gives tickets to hardworking people from poorer and middle-class backgrounds.
Her comments were made in a post on X on Friday.
