IndiaMART Challenges TRAI's Spam Regulations
IndiaMART, a big online marketplace for businesses, is upset with some new rules made by TRAI, which is like the boss of phone and internet companies in India.
These rules are about stopping spam calls and messages.
IndiaMART thinks these rules are too strict and unfair, especially for businesses talking to other businesses.
They say that if just five people complain about their messages, the phone companies can block IndiaMART's entire business for a whole year without even giving them a proper chance to explain.
So, IndiaMART went to the Delhi High Court to say these rules are not fair.
The court has asked TRAI and the government to explain their side, and they will talk about it more next year.
IndiaMART challenges TRAI's Regulation 25 on spam communications.
The regulation allows telecom providers to block entities based on complaints.
IndiaMART argues the regulation is too harsh on B2B communications.
Delhi High Court issued notice to TRAI and the government.
