Padma Awards 2026: 131 Honored Including Dharmendra, Rohit Sharma
The Indian government announced the Padma Awards for 2026 on the eve of Republic Day.
This year, 131 people were honored, including famous actors like Dharmendra and Mammootty, cricketers like Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur, and many others who have done amazing things in different areas.
Some of these awards were given to people who have passed away, like Dharmendra and Satish Shah.
The awards will be officially given at a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in March or April.
The government started accepting nominations for these awards last year in March and stopped in July.
They wanted to make sure that people from all parts of society, including those who are often not recognized, get a chance to be honored.
Some people are happy that the awards recognize diverse contributions, while others think the selection process could be more fair.
