ED summons TMC treasurer over financial irregularities
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has called Subhasish Chakraborty, the treasurer of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and a former Rajya Sabha MP, to discuss some money issues.
The ED thinks that around Rs 164 crore might have been put into the party's bank accounts in a wrong way.
Chakraborty is in charge of these accounts, which are now frozen.
The TMC is also going through a big fight inside the party, with some leaders saying they are the real leaders.
These leaders have even told the bank and the police about the money problems, which led to the ED freezing the accounts.
The ED is also looking into a company called Carewell, which the TMC rented planes and helicopters from, using a lot of party money.
