CERN and Scotland Yard: Milestones in Science and Policing
On September 29, two important things happened a long time ago!
First, a big science lab called CERN opened to study tiny particles.
It was created by many countries in Europe.
Scientists there use a giant machine called the Large Hadron Collider to learn about the universe.
CERN is also where the internet was invented!
At the same time, in London, a new police force called Scotland Yard started.
They made a new way to do policing.
Now, both CERN and Scotland Yard are important places.
On September 29, 1954, CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, was founded.
CERN brings together scientists globally to study particle physics.
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is housed at CERN.
On September 29, 1829, Scotland Yard, the Metropolitan Police headquarters, was established.
Scotland Yard introduced a new professional approach to modern policing.
