Uttarakhand Schools Shut Due to Heavy Rain, Holiday in Bageshwar

Rain is expected in a state in India called Uttarakhand.

Weather experts say some places may get heavy to very heavy rain.

An orange alert, a serious warning, was issued for Dehradun, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Champawat.

The rain may include loud thunder, lightning, and very strong downpours in some areas.

Because of the warning, schools in Bageshwar are closed on Monday for students up to Class 12.

That means students do not have to go to school that day.

Other districts in the state received a smaller warning called a yellow alert.

The state's emergency center told every district to stay alert and take safety precautions.

It rained in several parts of the state on Sunday, and more heavy rain is expected on Monday.
