India's Housing Market: Sales Fall, Prices Rise in Q2 2025
In the second quarter of 2025, fewer people bought houses in India's biggest cities.
Sales went down, but prices went up a lot.
Experts say that war-related worries and high prices made people wait to buy.
Even though fewer houses were sold overall, some cities did better than others.
Now, things might be getting a little better as the economy improves.
Housing sales in India's top 7 cities fell 20% year-on-year in Q2 2025.
Sales reached approximately 96,285 units in Q2 2025 compared to 120,335 units in Q2 2024.
Average residential prices across these cities rose 11% annually.
MMR and Pune contributed nearly 48% of all sales.
Chennai was the only city to show annual sales growth, with an 11% increase.
