Equity Funds See Mixed Trends in 2026

In December 2025, equity mutual funds in India saw a 6% drop in inflows compared to November.

Investors put in Rs 28,054.06 crore, which was less than the previous month's Rs 29,911.05 crore.

Flexi-cap funds were the only ones that saw more money coming in, while other types like mid-cap, small-cap, and focused funds had less.

Some funds even saw money going out, especially tax-saving ELSS funds.

Overall, the mutual fund industry had a net outflow of Rs 66,591 crore.

However, SIP investments reached a record high of Rs 31,002 crore.

Investors also put a lot of money into gold and silver ETFs.

The total assets under management were Rs 80.23 lakh crore at the end of December.

The CEO of AMFI said investors were booking profits because the market was up in the first half of the month but turned bearish in the second half.

Despite this, he expects good growth in mutual fund assets next year.
