Centre Approves 110-Km Ghatkesar-Kazipet Railway Multitracking Project
The government approved a plan to add more railway tracks between Ghatkesar and Kazipet.
The route is 110 kilometres long and the work is expected to cost about Rs 2,419 crore.
More tracks will allow more passenger and goods trains to use the route.
This could reduce train crowding and improve punctuality.
The railway line carries goods such as coal, cement, food grains and iron ore.
Officials also expect transport costs to fall and freight trains to move faster.
The project is one of five railway projects covering about 540 kilometres in four states.
The work is planned to be completed by 2029-30, with tenders to be invited next.
