Calcutta High Court Pauses Coercive Action Against Abhishek Banerjee

The Calcutta High Court temporarily stopped police from taking forceful action against Abhishek Banerjee in three cases.

These cases were filed in South 24 Parganas district.

The cases are connected to two police stations in Bishnupur and one in Rabindranagar.

The protection will last until September 11 under the current order.

However, police can still investigate the allegations.

Banerjee has challenged these criminal cases in court.

The court is also considering other cases against him.

A government lawyer argued that Banerjee is influential and that complainants could not previously file cases easily.
