Rahul Gandhi’s Pune Visit Tests Congress Unit’s Internal Unity
Rahul Gandhi is visiting Pune to speak with students on August 22.
The meeting will especially give young women a chance to share their concerns.
Students may discuss exam leaks, expensive education, safety, hostels, and campus facilities.
The meeting is part of a larger student campaign called ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’.
Congress leaders in Pune hope the visit will energise party workers.
However, the local Congress organisation has disagreements between different groups.
Its city unit was recently divided into East and West zones.
People watching the party say its success will depend on whether these groups can work together.
