Annapurna Yojana: 17 lakh names rejected over Aadhaar issues

The Bengal government has a program called Annapurna Yojana that gives money directly to women.

Before giving out the third round of payments, the government checked everyone's paperwork.

About 17 lakh women had their names removed from the list.

This happened because of problems with their Aadhaar cards, which are special ID cards in India.

The government has explained the reasons and told people how to apply again.

The third payment will be sent between August 17 and 20.

About 1.45 crore women will receive the money in their bank accounts.

The government has set aside Rs 4,350 crore for this payment.

Officials shared this news at a press conference at Nabanna.
