IIEST Teachers to Meet Director Over Hostel Renovation
Imagine you're going to college and your dorm is falling apart!
That's what's happening at IIEST Shibpur.
Someone posted pictures online showing the rooms with damaged walls and leaks.
The teachers are now stepping in.
They want the director to fix the hostels, which are very important because IIEST is supposed to be a place where students live.
The director said they are fixing the hostels now that the students are back, and a big new hostel with lots of rooms will open soon.
IIEST Shibpur teachers will meet the director to address the neglected condition of the hostels.
The meeting follows a LinkedIn post highlighting the hostels' poor state, including crumbling infrastructure.
The teachers' association will discuss the hostel conditions and accommodation for all students.
The director stated that repairs were delayed due to students being away during the vacation.
Renovations are underway, with a new hostel with 1,000 berths set to open by mid-September.
