BMC Proposes Legal Retainer for Mumbai Coastal Road North Project

BMC Proposes Legal Retainer for Mumbai Coastal Road North Project

The BMC is planning a large coastal road in northern Mumbai.

The road would connect Versova, Dahisar and Bhayandar.

It is expected to make some journeys much faster.

Because the project involves many contracts, permissions and possible disagreements, BMC wants a dedicated legal adviser.

The proposed adviser would be Preeti Purandare, a former BMC Joint Law Officer.

The contract would cost ₹1 lakh per month for one year.

The project also needs environmental work, including planting 15,843 trees.

The entire road is expected to cost about ₹22,000 crore and could be completed by December 2028.
