Haryana Shifts to Fully Paperless Land Registration System
Imagine buying or selling a house.
Before, you needed lots of paper, and sometimes it was slow or tricky to make sure everything was honest.
Now, Haryana is changing its system so you can do almost everything online, like signing papers with a special computer code instead of a pen.
This means fewer chances for papers to get lost or changed unfairly.
They are also getting rid of paying people with cash for fees and will only take payments through a secure online system.
Soon, they will even have a system that automatically updates who owns land after a sale, making things faster and fairer for everyone.
This is like upgrading from an old flip phone to a brand new smartphone for managing land.
Haryana will implement a fully paperless land registration system from November 1, making physical documents obsolete.
All property deeds will require digital signatures, enhancing security against tampering and forgery.
Manual collection of fees is banned, with all payments now processed through an official e-Governance payment gateway.
An auto-mutation system will be launched on November 25 to automatically record ownership transfers and prevent delays.
A Haryana Large Scale Mapping Project is underway to create GPS-based digital maps for all plots, aiming to eliminate boundary disputes.
