70,000 Ukrainian Women Join Army in 2025
In 2025, over 70,000 women are serving in Ukraine's army, which is 20% more than in 2022.
More than 5,500 of these women are fighting on the front lines.
This big increase is because of new technology, like drones, which let women do important jobs in the army that they couldn't do before.
These drones help the army by dropping bombs, doing reconnaissance, and even attacking Russian targets.
Some women, like Monka, a drone pilot, left their jobs abroad to come back and help Ukraine.
Even though war is hard and scary, these women are doing it because they want to make a difference.
The army is also trying to get 15,000 more people, including women, to join and help in different ways.
Over 70,000 women are serving in Ukraine's armed forces in 2025, a 20% increase since 2022.
More than 5,500 women are deployed directly to the front line.
The rise is driven by modern technology, especially drones, which have created new combat and technical opportunities for women.
Ukraine has absorbed heavy losses, with around 45,000 soldiers killed and at least 390,000 wounded since the 2022 full-scale invasion by Russia.
The army is aiming to recruit 15,000 new personnel, including women, for both combat and noncombat roles.
