Antonsen targets elusive gold at BWF World Championships
Anders Antonsen is a very good badminton player from Denmark.
He is the number three badminton player in the whole world.
He is going to play in a big championship called the World Championships in New Delhi, India.
He has played in this championship many times before.
He has won three bronze medals and one silver medal there.
But he has never won the gold medal.
He really hopes this year will be his year.
He recently won a tournament called the Thailand Open, which made him feel very happy and confident.
He says there are many amazing players now, so winning is very hard.
He also says he does not feel extra pressure to win, because he only cares about his own expectations.
World No. 3 Anders Antonsen begins his BWF World Championships campaign in New Delhi on Monday.
Antonsen has won three bronze medals and one silver at the World Championships but has never claimed the gold.
His recent Thailand Open title, his first at that event, is a morale booster ahead of the tournament.
He says the men's singles field is so competitive and unpredictable that there is no clear favourite.
Antonsen says he feels no extra pressure following Viktor Axelsen's departure from international badminton.
