Karnataka CM Delays Tamil Nadu CM Visit Over Water Dispute

The leaders of two Indian states, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, were supposed to meet on August 3 to talk about sharing water from the Cauvery River.

But in Karnataka, people were upset and protested because the state had to give water to Tamil Nadu.

The Karnataka leader, D K Shivakumar, asked the Tamil Nadu leader, C Vijay Joseph, to postpone the visit until the protests calm down.

He said the meeting should happen in a peaceful and friendly environment.

The leaders also talked about a big water project called Mekedatu, which would help Tamil Nadu get more water and give Karnataka some power.

Karnataka will hold a meeting with all parties and invite the Tamil Nadu leader again once things settle.
