Court Dismisses Promotion Plea by Spy's Son
A man named Neeraj Sharma, whose father was a spy captured by Pakistan, asked a court to give him a better job in the police.
He thought he deserved a higher rank because of his education and family history.
However, the court said no.
They explained that there isn't any rule that says they *have* to give him a better job.
Since he was already offered and accepted the job of a constable, the court couldn't order a promotion.
It’s like asking for a raise, but the company doesn't have a policy to grant it, so it's not possible.
Punjab & Haryana High Court dismissed a plea by a police constable seeking elevation to a higher post.
Neeraj Sharma, son of a former Indian spy, sought a higher rank based on his qualifications and family background.
The court stated there was no existing policy to support Sharma's request for promotion.
Sharma's father was captured by the Pakistan Army in 1968 and released in 1974.
The court observed that Sharma's appointment as constable was offered after considering his background and qualifications.
