CPM Office Set Ablaze in Chandrakona; BJP Denies Allegation

A Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPM, office in Chandrakona was attacked on Monday.

CPM leaders said BJP supporters broke into the office and started the fire.

They said the attack happened after a large CPM rally.

The CPM said furniture, papers, bicycles and motorcycles were damaged.

Residents and police helped put out the fire before the building suffered major damage.

Police then stayed in the area to prevent more trouble.

A BJP lawmaker rejected the CPM’s accusation.

He said the damage was caused by a disagreement between two CPM groups.
