Modi’s Foreign Policy Wins Praise Amid Trump Trade Uncertainty
A major American newspaper gave Narendra Modi’s foreign policy a positive review.
The newspaper has often criticized his record as India’s leader.
It said Modi was active when Donald Trump’s trade and tariff policies seemed unpredictable.
Modi traveled to many countries to try to make agreements.
Leaders from other countries also came to India because they wanted economic opportunities there.
The report described India as the world’s fastest-growing large economy.
India also helped countries agree on a declaration at the BRICS Delhi Summit.
These events supported the newspaper’s view that Modi was acting as an energetic deal-maker.
The New York Times reportedly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign-policy efforts in a late-August article.
The report said Modi responded to Donald Trump’s erratic conduct on trade and tariffs by traveling to numerous countries.
According to the article, Modi sought to build agreements, or “deals,” through those diplomatic visits.
Leaders from several countries also visited India to seek access to what the report called the world’s fastest-growing large economy.
India’s success in finding common ground and issuing a declaration at the BRICS Delhi Summit fit the article’s positive assessment.
