Retail Inflation Rises to 4.45% in July on Food Prices

Inflation is a big word for prices going up.

When inflation is high, things like food cost more money.

In July, prices in India went up by 4.45%.

That is a little more than in June, when they went up by 4.38%.

Most of the extra increase came from food, which got more expensive.

India's central bank, called the Reserve Bank of India, likes prices to go up by about 4% every year.

It is okay if prices go up a bit more or a bit less, as long as they stay between 2% and 6%.

The new number is still inside that okay range.

The bank recently decided not to change its interest rates for now.

Some money experts think prices might keep rising later, while others think the bank will just wait and watch.
