Nagaland Coffee Scene: Top Cafes Emerge
Nagaland, a state in India, is developing a coffee scene!
After an early start in the 1980s and a setback, the government helped coffee production restart in 2015.
Now, several new coffee shops are opening, run by people who care about good coffee and a nice atmosphere.
Many of these cafes focus on locally grown Arabica coffee.
These cafes offer great coffee and a taste of big-city cafe culture.
Some popular cafes are Été Coffee Roasters, Nagaland Coffee, Garrison Hill Centre & Café, Juro Coffee House, and Shiro Roastery.
Nagaland's coffee industry was revived in 2015 after an initial attempt in the 1980s.
Kohima, Mokokchung, Tseminyu, and Zunheboto are key coffee-growing regions.
Été Coffee Roasters is considered the first specialty coffee roaster in Northeast India.
Nagaland Coffee, opened in 2023, is operated by one of the first certified baristas in the state.
Several cafes feature industry-leading roasting standards and modern aesthetics.
