Bombay HC Dismisses PIL Against Pawars Over Lavasa Project
The Bombay High Court has dismissed a request made by a lawyer named Nanasaheb Jadhav.
He wanted the court to order a police investigation or a CBI probe against some important politicians, including Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, and Ajit Pawar.
The reason was about some permissions given to build a private hill station called Lavasa.
The court said that the lawyer did not provide enough proof to support his claims.
The court also mentioned that the lawyer had made similar requests before, which were also dismissed.
The court suggested that if the police do not take action, the lawyer could go to a magistrate with his complaint.
The Lavasa project was supposed to be India's first completely private, planned hill station, but it remains unfinished.
Some local villagers and activists protested against the project, alleging that tribal lands were grabbed or purchased at unfairly low prices through coercion.
Bombay High Court dismissed a PIL seeking a CBI probe against NCP leaders over Lavasa project permissions.
Petitioner Nanasaheb Jadhav alleged irregularities in approvals granted to the Lavasa hill station project.
Court noted insufficient material to support claims and previous similar PIL was disposed of in 2022.
Jadhav claimed police did not register an FIR despite his complaints and sought a CBI probe.
Court suggested filing a private complaint before a magistrate if the FIR is not registered by the police.
