Rain Damages Andhra Power Infrastructure Worth Rs 2.51 Crore

Heavy rain and strong winds damaged power equipment in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The damage was estimated to cost about Rs 2.51 crore.

Many villages and electricity connections lost power.

Workers from APEPDCL repaired substations, feeders, poles and transformers.

Most affected villages and connections had power restored by Thursday evening.

Srikakulam district had the greatest damage.

Vizianagaram also reported damaged equipment and villages without power.

Some repairs were delayed because standing water made the work dangerous.

Officials said crews would continue until electricity was fully restored.
