Indian Coast Guard Holds Marine Pollution Workshop at Vizhinjam

The Indian Coast Guard held a meeting about dealing with pollution in the sea.

It took place at Vizhinjam on September 24.

Dr Sekhar L Kuriyakose opened the event.

He said coastal communities should understand the dangers of marine pollution.

Different government departments and other organisations joined the workshop.

They discussed rescue work and ways to respond to pollution.

The event includes a tabletop exercise running through September 25.

Its main goal is to help organisations work together during an oil spill.
