Drone Attacks Intensify in Central Sudan
There is a war in Sudan between the army and a group called the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The RSF has been using drones to attack places in central Sudan, especially around a city called al-Obeid.
These attacks have killed many people, including women and children.
Some people had to leave their homes because of the fighting.
The army is trying to defend the city, but the RSF is getting closer.
The drones have been hitting important places like hospitals and homes, making life very difficult for the people living there.
Drone strikes by the RSF have intensified in and around al-Obeid, central Sudan, causing significant civilian casualties.
A drone attack on a funeral in al-Luweib village killed 65 women and children in November 2023.
In January 2023, a drone strike on a home in al-Obeid killed a woman and seven children.
About 43,000 people have fled their homes in North Kordofan due to the conflict, with a total of 65,000 displaced from the Kordofan region.
Satellite imagery shows new burial mounds, damage to the city's power station, and defensive structures around al-Obeid.
