Madhavan Reveals Dhurandhar's 'Peak Detailing' Cost Rs 10 Crore Extra
A famous actor named R Madhavan talked about a very popular movie called Dhurandhar.
The movie was directed by Aditya Dhar and became a huge hit in India.
Before it came out, many people thought the movie was too long and that no one would want to watch it.
But lots of people went to see it, and it made a very large amount of money.
Madhavan said the movie's success shows that audiences are smarter than filmmakers sometimes think.
He also shared a fun secret: the director spent 10 crore rupees on tiny details that most people might never even notice.
Fans loved those details so much that they made funny memes about them on the internet.
Madhavan said this reminds him that storytellers should trust their audience and tell stories honestly.
He hopes other filmmakers learn the same lesson from Dhurandhar.
R Madhavan said Dhurandhar's blockbuster success proved audiences are more evolved than filmmakers often assume and appreciate honest storytelling.
Madhavan revealed director Aditya Dhar spent an extra Rs 10 crore on 'peak detailing' — small details viewers might never notice — calling the investment 'insane.'
The Dhurandhar franchise has reportedly grossed over Rs 3,000 crore worldwide, making it one of Indian cinema's biggest successes.
'Peak Detailing by Aditya Dhar' has become a viral meme on social media, which Dhar acknowledged in a birthday post on X.
Madhavan, who plays Intelligence Bureau Director Ajay Sanyal, said Dhurandhar reaffirmed his faith in conviction-driven storytelling like his directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

Trust the Audience
Commercial Caution
Runtime of the film
Trust the Audience
A very long film can be a blockbuster if the story is told honestly; doubts such as 'nobody watches four-hour films' were proven wrong by Dhurandhar.
Commercial Caution
Before release, many expected the film to fail because of its length, predicting audiences would not sit through a long, brutal film without commercial elements.
Extra spend on 'peak detailing'
Trust the Audience
Spending Rs 10 crore on details viewers might miss was worthwhile because audiences notice nuance and appreciate the intent behind the storytelling.
Commercial Caution
Spending Rs 10 crore extra on details nobody would see would generally be dismissed as insane and a waste of money.
Formula vs. conviction
Trust the Audience
Storytellers should trust their own vision and the audience's intelligence instead of relying on commercial templates.
Commercial Caution
Conventional wisdom holds that films need commercial hooks (such as popular songs like 'Sheela Ki Jawani' and 'Munni Badnaam') to succeed at the box office.
