Legal Case Against Iltija Mufti Over Srinagar Protest Assault

Legal Case Against Iltija Mufti Over Srinagar Protest Assault

In a city called Srinagar, a political party called the PDP held a protest.

The protest was about a rule called Article 370, which was removed from the constitution seven years ago.

A politician named Mehbooba Mufti and her daughter Iltija led the protest.

Police say some people tried to block the road and break through barriers.

They also say Iltija hurt a police officer by grabbing and biting his arm.

The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Iltija says police officers hurt her first and tried to tear her clothes, but police say that is not true.

Because of the fight, police started an official case called an FIR, a legal complaint, against Iltija.

They asked her to come to the police station on August 7 to answer questions.

The party says police questioned her at her mother's home while she was getting medical treatment, and called it unfair and insensitive.
