Kerala Rights Commission Orders Probe Into Patient’s Hospital Death

An 87-year-old patient died after falling from his bed in a government hospital.

The Kerala State Human Rights Commission wants the death investigated.

It asked the Director of Medical Education to check whether the hospital made mistakes.

The investigation must also examine whether the hospital had suitable safety arrangements.

The medical college principal is already conducting an inquiry.

The commission said that inquiry must be transparent and effective.

A report and important documents must be submitted within six weeks.

Officials will appear before the commission again on November 2.
