West Bengal Launches ISKCON Mid-Day Meal Program for 44,000 Students
West Bengal’s new school meal program will give 44,000 students a healthy lunch every day.
The meals are made by ISKCON and include beans, lentils, paneer, and fruit.
Eggs will be given separately because many parents asked for them.
The state will use electric trucks to deliver the food.
The program will grow to cover 250,000 students in three months and will cost about 10 rupees per meal.
ISKCON’s Annamrita Foundation will serve lunches to 44,000 students in 500 schools starting Aug 1.
