Madhya Pradesh Monsoon: 15% Rainfall Deficit, No Heavy Rain Alert
The monsoon season in Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India, has brought less rain than usual.
By early August, the state had only 401.9 millimeters of rain, while normally it should have about 470.5 millimeters.
That means the state is 15% short of its normal rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department said there will be no heavy rain for the next two days because the weather systems are not strong enough.
However, a new weather disturbance is expected to start on August 4 and could bring heavy rain to the eastern and northern parts of the state from August 5 onward.
Madhya Pradesh has received 15% less rainfall than normal, with 42 districts below average.
Average rainfall so far is 401.9 mm versus the expected 470.5 mm.
No heavy rain alert for the next two days due to weak monsoon systems.
Sehore recorded heavy rainfall, but most districts experienced only light showers.
A new western disturbance is expected from August 4, potentially bringing heavy rain to eastern and northern parts from August 5.
