Asian Paints Reports Strong Q2 Earnings Driven by Decorative Demand and Cost Efficiencies
Asian Paints, a big paint company in India, had a really good September quarter.
They made almost half more profit than last year, earning about ₹1,018 crore.
Their total sales also went up by 6% to ₹8,514 crore.
This success was mainly because people bought more of their decorative paints, with sales growing by 11%.
They also did a good job of keeping their costs down, which helped increase their profits.
Even though there were challenges like a long monsoon, their marketing and sales efforts worked well in both cities and the countryside.
Some of their other businesses, like bath fittings and kitchens, didn't do as well, with sales going down.
However, their industrial paint business and sales in other countries grew.
Because of this good performance, the company decided to give its shareholders a small payment, called a dividend.
Asian Paints reported a 47% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹1,018 crore for the September quarter.
Revenue grew by 6% to ₹8,514 crore compared to the same period last year.
The domestic decorative business saw an 11% volume growth and 6% value growth, despite challenging weather conditions.
Profit margins improved due to ongoing efforts in cost efficiencies, even with increased spending on brand and retail initiatives.
Asian Paints announced an interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share, with a record date set for Tuesday.
