Telangana Raises Auto-Rickshaw Fares After Years Without Revision
Telangana has increased the fares people pay for auto-rickshaw rides.
The new minimum fare is Rs 30 for the first 1.6 kilometres.
After that, each additional kilometre costs Rs 14.
Waiting time costs 75 paise per minute.
Rides between 11 pm and 5 am cost more than usual.
The old fares had not changed since 2014, while drivers’ expenses increased.
The government says meters should be updated within three months.
Before that happens, drivers must show a card with both fare rates.

The order sets a 100 kg luggage limit and a 50-paise charge per package, with specified exceptions; driver groups had sought fare revision and other support.
