Nirav Modi Case: ED Deletes Look Out Circular Against Approver Maiank Mehta, Court Disposes Plea · freepressjournal.in

A Look Out Circular is a police alert that tells airport officials to stop a person from leaving the country.

Maiank Mehta is the brother-in-law of Nirav Modi, a famous diamond businessman who is accused of big financial wrongdoing and is wanted by the police.

Mehta was once listed as a suspect in the case, but the court later let him become an 'approver', meaning he agreed to help investigators.

Even so, a travel alert against him was still in place.

He asked the court to remove it because he lives and works in Hong Kong and needs to fly to other countries to meet his business clients.

At first, the government's lawyer opposed his request.

Later, the Enforcement Directorate told the court that the travel alert had been deleted.

So the court closed his request and told the immigration office about the change.

Now Mehta is free to travel abroad again.
