ECI Releases UP Draft Electoral Rolls
The Election Commission of India has released the first version of the voter lists for Uttar Pradesh.
This is a big step to make sure everyone who can vote is on the list and no one who can't is.
Political parties and regular people can check the lists and say if they see any mistakes.
The lists will be available in person and online.
This helps make the voting process fair and everyone can trust it.
After people check, they can say if they see any problems.
Then, the final list will be made with all the correct information.
The ECI expects to remove nearly 2.89 crore names from the voter list.
If your name is missing, you can submit an application to get it included.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) released the draft electoral rolls for Uttar Pradesh on January 6, 2026.
Hard copies will be shared with all recognized political parties, and the draft rolls will also be uploaded online and via the ECINET app.
The public and political parties can review the lists and raise objections or suggest corrections until February 6, 2026.
Special lists of absent, shifted, deceased, or duplicate voters will also be published online.
The ECI expects to remove nearly 2.89 crore names from the voter list, with Uttar Pradesh recording the highest number of deletions.
