Haryana Offers Contractual Jobs to 1984 Riot Victims' Families
The Haryana government has made changes to a policy that helps families of people who were killed in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Now, one family member of each victim can get a job through a government organization called HKRNL.
The jobs are at different levels based on the person's education and skills.
If the job they are given is filled later, they will be moved to another job in a different department or within HKRNL.
The government has told all relevant offices to follow this new rule.
This change is part of earlier notifications made in 2022, 2023, and 2025 to make the policy better.
Haryana amended its Deployment of Contractual Persons Policy to include families of 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims.
One family member per victim is eligible for a contractual job through HKRNL.
Jobs are offered at Level-I, Level-II, or Level-III based on educational qualifications.
If the job role is filled, the employee will be adjusted to another suitable role in a different department or within HKRNL.
The amendment aims to strengthen the compassionate framework of the policy and supersedes previous notifications.
